Dog toys that are not only fun, but are also good for the oral hygiene of your dog.

A dog is not in the ability to take care of his teeth. They depend on us for this. We must, therefore, provide them with the necessary care, so as to preserve the health and function of their teeth.

The poor care of their dentures may lead to the following problems:

-Inflammation:

Bacteria that originate from dental infections activate the immune system, resulting in inflammation. The inflammatory response kills bacteria but also destroes tissue in the process. The more severe the tooth disease and the worse the inflammation, the greater the chance that bacteria will enter the bloodstream and travel to other parts of the body. This causes additional damage and infections to other parts of the body.

-Heart disease:

Studies have provided a link between bacteria that cause heart disease and those that come from gum disease.

-Complicate diabetes:

Diabetes dogs tend to have more gum inflammation. In fact, the two disorders feed into a vicious cycle. The more severe the gum infection is, the more severe the diabetes becomes, which in turn exacerbates the gum inflammation.

It ' s not always possible to determine which condition came first-the gum inflammation or the diabetes-but an inflammation and infection associated with gum inflammation can affect blood sugar metabolism. Inflammation and infections reduce the sensitivity of the body to insulin. Thus, it is difficult to balance a dog ' s diabetes until the gum inflammation is treated. Once the gum inflammation has been addressed, their diabetes is much easier to stabilize.

-Causes pain and tenderness:

Dogs can behave as usual and eat. It may seem like nothing is going on, but that ' s the wrong assumption. Appetite is indeed a strong drive, which makes them inclined to show no pain, because they want to eat. Dogs that suffer from tooth or gum inflammation can show signs of dental problems, such as drooling, lack of appetite, swelling or bleeding, but these do not appear in all cases. Usually by the time the signs appear, it ' s too late to save the tooth yet. Only after removing or curing the inflamed tooth (s) do you notice an effective one difference in your dog.

-Bad oral hygiene can lead to a broken jaw:

Poor oral hygiene can lead to a broken jaw, especially smaller breeds with disproportionately large teeth, such as for example Chihuahuas, Maltesers and Shih Tzus. An infection in the mouth of these dogs may weaken their relatively small jaws and cause something as simple as jumping off the bank can lead to a jaw fracture.

Fortunately, it does not happen very often, but this is serious and very painful. In addition, it can be difficult to get the fracture cured in the right way, because the bone is no longer healthy.

What can you do to avoid tooth or gum problems?

We recommend that every year be checked along with the vet to let the general condition of your dog be checked. This control ensures that potential problems or diseases are being fixed in good time, so that they can be addressed at an early stage. During the checkup, the veterinarian will also check the teeth and oral hygiene of your dog.

As a dog owner it is important to pay the necessary attention to the oral hygiene of your dog and on a regular basis to control the teeth and the gums. If you have a puppy you can train here immediately so that the dog is just this and your dog has no or fewer problems with it at a later age.

You can do certain things yourself in order to stimulate the care of the mouth. For example, there are several toys or dog snacks that improve your dog's oral hygiene.

Dog toys to improve oral hygiene:

Dog toys have two important functions. First, it encourages your dog to chew. This action encourages their bodies to produce additional saliva that washes away food residues and bacteria. Second, the chewing action helps to clean your dog ' s teeth and remove toothpaste/toothstone. Chewing (outside of meals to) is not only very healthy for your dog, it also takes care of happy dogs too. When chewing is made into the brain of the dog's endorphins (happiness hormone). These endorphins give a sense of rest, causing your dog to relax.

Today you can find lots of different spoof washes on the market and it is not always easy to decide which ones are suitable for your dog. To help you we have put some toys in a row below which we use for our dogs and which we are super satisfied with.

-Nylabone / Tasty bone:

What are the advantages:

-Nylabone/Tasty bone dog chews are made of high-grade nylon, which makes them long to last. As a result, you save on standard chews, which after a short period of time usually no longer be safe for your dog

-The Nylabone/Tasty bone makes for a good diversion, leaving them normally to leave the furniture and the interior with rest. In addition, these do not take off on upholstery, furniture or the coat of your dog.

-Nylabones/Tasty bone are particularly healthy for the dentures of your dog. The chewing bone removes simple food particles, toothpaste and massaging the gums.

-Did the Nylabone/Tasty bone get dirty? By putting them in a saucepan with boiling water, you sterilise the toy, reducing the risk of infections. The cooking of the chewing bone also ensures that the subtle taste returns. That's how your dog loves it again!

Important when buying a Nylabone/Tasty bone is that you try to properly estimate your dog's weight and adage strength. At our French Bulldog we had to take a higher weight class from Nylabone, because the adjoining force is much higher than in any other small dog breed. Our French Bulldog weighed around 15kg, but chewed at a Nylabone for a dog of approx. 30kg. They themselves find it immensely pleasant to chew on and keep this their day when we work are certain and dedicated.

They exist in different flavors, this taste may differ from dog to dog. Our French Bulldog left some Nylabones untouched, while on others he constantly chews on the taste.
